If I die early, what happens to my remaining structured settlement payments?

A:  If the structured settlement includes a guaranteed payment period or a beneficiary designation, the remaining payments will be transferred to the designated beneficiary upon your death. If there is no guaranteed payment period or beneficiary, payments may cease upon the claimant's death, and the remaining funds return to the annuity issuer.
